Stone appeared and soil not yet appeared, Tamil appeared in this period. கல் தோன்றி மண் தோன்றா காலத்தே தோன்றிய தமிழ்?

After earth came into being, while water subsided and land appeared, first appeared were only hills. In those hills, humans used stones (hand size stone) as their tools. After that, even before knowing food grain cultivation in land, Tamils are the ones who wander around with metallic swords.

i.e., before discovering agriculture, they are intelligent enough to discover the uses of metals.

“பொய்யகல நாளும் புகழ்விளைத்தல் என்வியப்பாம்

வையகம் போர்த்த வயங்கொலிநீர் வையகலக்

கற்றோன்றி மண்டோன்றாக் காலத்தே வாளோடு

முற்றோன்றி மூத்தகுடி”

              -புறப்பொருள் வெண்பா மாலை

                   எழுதியவர் ஐயனாரிதனார்

பொருள்:

பூமி தோன்றிய பின் நீர் விலகி நிலம் தெரிந்த போது முதலில் தெரிந்தது மலைதான் (குறிஞ்சி நிலம்) அத்தகைய மலைகளில் தங்கள் ஆயுதங்களாக (கையகல கல்) கற்களை பயன்படுத்தினர்.

பிறகு விளை பொருட்களை உருவாக்கும் நிலங்களை (அம்ண்- மருத நிலம்) கண்டுணரும் முன்னரே உலோகத்தால் ஆன வாளோடு திரிந்தவர்கள் தான் தமிழர்கள்.

அதாவது விவசாயம் கண்டுபிடிக்கும் முன்னரே முல்லை நிலத்திலேயே உலோகப் பயன்பாட்டினைக் கண்டுபிடித்த அறிவாளி என்ற பொருளிலேதான் சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்.
