Arjuna Arjuna… அர்ஜுனா அர்ஜுனா. . .

(Arjuna is a one of the brave men and brother dharmar of described in the epic Mahabharatha, an expert in handling Bow and Arrow.)

In our region, when thundering heard while raining, our elders say Arjuna…. Arjuna….

Immediately youngsters in our home criticize this by saying, will Arjuna bring his bow and arrow to clear the sound of thunder on hearing you uttering Arjuna? 

They say about the scientific instrument to escape from lightening by saying, lightening arrester is invented very long ago. Instead of keeping that on building, still grumbling Arjuna.

But, what is the true explanation?

When thundering is loud, ears of some people got blocked and a “ghoing” sound comes. To escape from this it is enough to utter Arjuna. Ears will not be blocked. When we say ‘Ar’, tongue gets folded and touches upper jaw.

When we say ‘ju’, mouth converged and air goes out.  When saying ‘na’, mouth opens fully and air goes out. As air goes out like this, ear will not get blocked. This is the reason our people called Arjuna to support.

Our ancients simply and without spending any thing made us to follow the scientific practice of uttering

நம்ம ஊரில் மழை பெய்யும்போது இடி இடித்தால் போதும் அர்ஜுனா அர்ஜுனா என்பார்கள் பெரியவர்கள்.

உடனே நம் வீட்டு இளசுகள் நீ அர்ஜுனான்னு சொன்ன உடனே அவன் வில்லையும் அம்பையும் எடுத்திட்டு வந்து இடி சத்தமே இல்லாம பண்ணிடப்போறானாக்கும் என்று கேலி பேசுவார்கள்.

இடி தாங்கி கண்டுபிடிச்சி எத்தனையோ வருடம் ஆச்சி அதை பில்டிங் மேல வைக்காம இன்னமும் அர்ஜுனான்னு புலம்பிட்டு இருக்கியே இடியிலிருந்து தப்பும் அறிவியல் உபகரணம் பற்றியும் சொல்வார்கள்.

உண்மை விளக்கம் என்ன தெரியுமா?

இடி பலமாக இடிக்கும்போது சிலரது காது அடைத்துக்கொய்ன்னு சத்தம் வரும். இதிலிருந்து தப்ப அர்ஜுனா என்றால் போதும். காது அடைக்காது.

அர் என்று சொல்லும்போது நஹக்கு மடித்து மேல் தாடையை தொடும். ஜூ என்னும்போது வாய் குவித்து காற்று வெளியேறும். நா என்னும்போது வாய் முழுமையாக திறாந்து காற்று வெளியே போதும். இப்படி காற்று வெளியேறுவதால் காது அடைக்காது. அதற்கு தான் அர்ஜுனாவை நம்மவர்கள் துணைக்கு அழைத்தார்கள்.

அர்ஜுன்ன் பெயரை உச்சரிப்பது மனதுக்கு பலம் என்ற ஆன்மீக காரணத்துடன் அறிவியலை நம் முன்னோர்கள் எளிமையாக செலவில்லாமல் நம்மை கடைபிடிக்க வைத்தார்கள்.

நாம்தான் காரனம் புரியாமல் தமிழர் பழக்கவழக்கங்களை மூட பழக்கமாக நினைத்து கை விட்டுவிட்டோம்.
